The big budget sex-tacular returns with a vengeance, in Private’s Sex City: The Trilogy. This limited edition three-disc set manages to be both jam-packed with varied starlets and hardcore scenes, and a faithful recreation of the film that inspired it, in tone and style, if not direct storyline. Woodman has gone all-out trying to bridge the gap between Hollywood blockbuster and porn satire, and he succeeds brilliantly. The film is shot in the black and white style Sin City is known for, with smatterings of colour thrown in. At times the scene switches to full colour once the action begins, and back and forth till the next set piece is reached.

As usual, Woodman has arranged a dizzying wealth of talent. There are plenty of the oh-my-god-she’s-too-ridiculously-hot-to-do-porn babes engaging in some fairly depraved acts usually ending in anal. Highlights include Nella’s three-way lesbian scene, Sonia Carter’s (who is fittingly cast as Carla Gugino’s character with a dynamite body to match) sex scene with ‘El Macho-she’s got to have the best rack this reviewer has seen in quite a while. The feather in the cap is the tractor beam of hotness known as Xenia Love. Take away the fact that she’s smoking hot and easily one of the best-looking women in the industry; it’s gratifying to see the ‘Nancy’ character-played by Jessica Alba in the original-finally get some deep dick action.

An interesting side bar is that the version we received here in Australia has actually been editing by the OFLC, but not for what you’d think. There’s a scene where the ‘Yellow Bastard’ character is doused with acid, yet local censors deemed it ‘too graphic’. How ridiculous is that? Though it doesn’t have any impact on the sex scenes, it’s a little odd that in a porno flick the one thing censored is a violent act, as opposed to a carnal one.
