THE MOVIE

Adapted from the Pulitzer prize-winning novel of the same name, The Road is necessary viewing for anyone who has lost faith in humanity.

Director John Hillcoat has said The Road is a love story, and it is.  It’s a story about finding something to love in a world turned to rank ash.  It is a story about being hounded, relentlessly dogged by grief and trauma and fear, and loving someone enough to keep going.  It is an ode to inevitability, to courage and to the constant struggle between true desperation and our championing humanity.

TERMS & CONDITIONS: Game of Skill

Competition commences on 02/06/10 and concludes on 14/07/10 at 5:00pm. Entry is open to all residents of Australia excluding employees of Australian Penthouse and their families. Entrants must provide their contact details and an answer to the question, “Which Pulitzer prize-winning novel would you like to see adapted in to a John Hillcoat movie?” in 25 words or less. This is a Game of Skill which contains no element of chance, and which will be judged by members of the Australian Penthouse staff on 14/07/10. One major prize winner will receive a The Road merchandise pack featuring: 1 x The Road on their choice of DVD or Blu Ray, 1 x The Road novel by Cormac McCarthy and 1 x The Road soundtrack by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. Five runners-up will receive: 1 x The Road DVD. Prizes will be mailed to winners at the address nominated in their entry. The promoters take no responsibility for lost or misdirected entries, and no correspondence will be entered into.
