The Show

“Once upon a time there was a land of neon rainbows called Kings Cross, where fantasies could be bought and nightmares walked the streets. It was a Neverland, a land on another planet. A land where a western suburbs school boy called John Ibrahim came to seek his fortune.”

Underbelly: The Golden Mile is based on events from 1988‐1999 in Sydney’s Kings Cross.

The crims were cool, the cops were crooked and Kings Cross was theirs for the taking.

The strip was the playground of some notorious characters, and the birth place of a string of events that caused Kings Cross Constable Debbie Webb to help bring about the Wood Royal Commission into the New South Wales Police Service.

The Australian cast includes Firass Dirani, Emma Booth, Cheree Cassidy, Diarmid Heidenreich, Dieter Brummer, Salvatore Coco, Paul Tassone, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Sigrid Thornton and Peter O’Brien.

Underbelly: The Golden Mile will be released on DVD July 1.

Competition commences on 28/06/10 and concludes on 09/08/10 at 5:00pm. Entry is open to all residents of Australia excluding employees of Australian Penthouse and their families. Entrants may only make one submission, and must provide their contact details and an answer to the question, “Tell us in 25 words or less: Why do Australians love the anti-hero so much?”. This is a Game of Skill which contains no element of chance, and which will be judged by members of the Australian Penthouse staff on 09/08/10. Competition rules are one entry per email address. One winner will receive a major prize pack , and five runners-up will receive a copy of Underbelly: The Golden Mile on DVD, as specified above. Prizes will be mailed to winners at the address nominated in their entry. The promoters take no responsibility for lost or misdirected entries, and no correspondence will be entered into.
