Hello, Jasmine. What did you get up to over the Summer holidays?

I’ve been looking at buying a fishing boat. Now is the best time to be out on the water.

What do you get up to when you go boating?

I fish or just sunbathe the day away. Relaxing on a boat while it’s bobbing up and down on the ocean is very relaxing.

What other Summer activities do you enjoy?

I love hanging out at barbecues with my friends and going to the beach for a picnic or a swim. I also enjoy clubbing or wining and dining at restaurants.

Tell us about your job.

I began dancing at a strip club while I was at university. Then I moved to Auckland—which is where I am now—and got a job at another club. These days I work at Showgirls.

What did you do for work before you became a dancer?

I worked in retail and as an accounts assistant for a movie director.

How does retail work compare with stripping?

As a dancer, at the end of the night my body is exhausted because I’ve been on my feet for such a long time, but my brain is still racing. It can take me a while to unwind. At the end of a shift in retail, my brain would feel tired from dealing with customers all day, but my body would still feel active.

Before you head to the beach, would you tell us a secret?

I was born in India and adopted when I was one-year-old by a couple from New Zealand. They raised me here and they’re the only parents I have ever known.
