How did you become one of the world’s most popular porn stars, Stoya?
I wasn’t too into the whole modelling thing until I started posing nude. That’s when I realised how much fun it was, and began actively pursuing jobs in front of the camera. A few months later, I was in the Digital Playground office and they offered me a contract.

What’s the greatest thing about working with Digital Playground?
The opportunity to travel around the world has been fantastic, and it’s not something I would have had the chance to do at such a young age if I wasn’t with the company. Plus, some of the movies we’ve made are just so raunchy!

Describe your hottest on-screen encounter…
My three-girls scene with Katsuni and Belladonna was amazing. It’s on the bonus disc of Pirates II.

You were recently named Adult Video News’ Best New Starlet 2009. What does such an award mean to you?
Receiving the Best New Starlet award was a huge honour. It was really surprising, considering I don’t look like the usual ideal of an adult performer.

We think you’re perfect. Tell us, what else is on the horizon for you?
Opportunities keep knocking, so we’ll see what ends up being worth doing. I’m thinking of becoming involved—either on or off-screen—in edgy, indie films. I’d also like to design a few pieces of sex-worker couture, when I find the time…
