How does it feel to be our 30th anniversary Pet of the Year, Emma?
It’s overwhelming. I really can’t describe it. I cried and had to sit down for half-an-hour after the announcement was made, because it felt so surreal. January 2009 Pet of the Month, Ashlee Adams, had to help calm me down!

What did you enjoy most about the Pet of the Year party?
Without a doubt, getting up onstage and doing a striptease with my good friend and 2009 Pet of the Year runner-up, Jorden.

We enjoyed that, too. Is it true that the sexy performance wasn’t planned at all?
Yes! About 45 minutes after I won—and a couple of champagnes later—I suggested to Jorden that we do a double show and a streak through the crowd! It was hot, especially because I like the contrast of having blonde with brunette.

Tell us about your photoshoot with internationally renowned photographer, Mark Goldberg.
I was a bit nervous, but also very excited! I’d seen some of Mark’s work, and it is just amazing.

What have you been up to since we spoke in the August ’09 issue?
I’ve just begun dancing at Minx bar in Sydney. I’ve also been travelling to Mackay to dance and do signings, which has been good fun. It’s funny because only a few months ago, I didn’t know how to dance at all!

Who taught you to dance?
I met up with Bentley, who appeared in your September ’09 issue, and she taught me some moves. Bentley and I have been friends for ages, so she made learning really fun. She gave me the courage to get up on stage and take my kit off!

What are your plans for your reign as 2009 Pet of the Year?
Well, I’m going to enjoy all of my wonderful prizes first! Then I want to travel around Australia, making club appearances and doing stage shows and signings. I’m so in love with Australian Penthouse, and winning this amazing award, that I want to be the best Pet of the Year you’ve had!
