Enigma

“Westerns,” she goes on. “I love everything about them and that whole era. The simple life–no mortgages, passports or computers. Just fresh air and raw freedom. But then again, what I really live is the idea of living on the French Riviera.”
It’s soon very apparent that Maria is quite an enigma. Her favourite things: knitting huge jumpers, feeding ducks in parks, living in leafy suburbs with a Mercedes at hand…
The impression is gained that 25-year-old Maria, from Brisbane, might be more at home picking up the kids from kindergarden rather than powering across our waterways.
“No, the boat is great,” she says–but there’s a catch. “It’s just the sun I don’t like. Only tourists sit in the sun.”
It will take “a very mature and sophisticated man” to keep this one entertained for any length… “Men should be above petty possessivenes. I need my freedom… to get out and about.”
