“I’m a romantic, Scarlett O’Hara kind of girl,” says Pet of the Month Amanda Ford with a toss of her head, which sends ripples of light down her beautiful flame-coloured hair. “ Ii’m veru happy to be living in this day and age, but there are times when I yearn for the genteel lifestyle of yesteryear.”

“I was born in the year of rock’ n’ roll,” says Carolynda, our blonde Pet of the Month. “So, for those who aren’t into rock I’m 25, and I’m a Capricorn!” Our Pet was two years old when she arrived in Australia from England, and she grew up she “Naturally gravitated towards heat- environmental and human. Growing up around the beaches instilled in me such an affinity with the ocean that I never survive away from it.”

“This is my first year in Melbourne, in the big city, and what that means is it’s my first year of real independence,” says brown-eyed Pet of the Month Helen Brown. “ Being away from the close community of a country town…I’m from Gippsland…has meant that I’ve had to make an effort to get out and meet people. I’ve loved the freedom. It’s made me much stronger as a person.”
